The top five hospitals and medical centers in the state ranked by number of persons employed are as follows: University-Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is 1st with 17,000 employees; University of Texas Diagnostic Center in Houston is 2nd with 15,000 employees; Surgical & Outpatient Services in Ft. Worth and Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio are 3rd with 8,000 employees each. Baylor Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas is 5th with 7,000 employees.
