Texas Nursing Schools

There are quite a few schools where a nurse can attend graduate level courses. There are twelve schools that offer only a Master of Science (MSN) degree. Among them are Midwestern State, Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing,  Prairie View A&M, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, University of Houston-Victoria, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, University of Texas-Brownsville, and West Texas A&M. Five schools offer a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in addition to an MSN. Those schools are Baylor, Texas Christian, University of Incarnate Word, University of Texas-Austin and University of Texas-El Paso. Four schools offer a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in addition to an MSN and a DNP degree. They are Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston, University of Texas Medical Branch and University of Texas-Arlington. Three schools, Texas Woman’s University, University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio and University of Texas-Tyler offer an MSN and a PhD degree.
